Here is a list of what is changing for Anglers who enter the Festival in 2024 :-

  1. The Major Cash Awards are being increased by 40% to Overall Best Specimen £750, Best Specimen Wreck £375, Best Specimen Inshore Boat £375, Best Specimen Shore £375. All Day Prizes are being increased by 40% to £50 Tackle Vouchers.

  2. There may be Bonus Cash Prizes on offer at the Presentation in 2024 to be decided after the Festival ends, depending on the Festivals financial position.

  3.  At the Presentation Evening all those who attend will be offered £5 by the Committee towards their drinks.

  4.  The Senior entry fee is being increased by 10% to £50 for 9days or £8 per day, Juniors £10 for 9 days or £2 per day.

  5.  The Festival Boundaries are being changed on Shore from Straight Point, Exmouth, to Bolt Head, Salcombe, and the boat boundaries have been altered accordingly to leave shore from these points. See Website for Co-ordinates

  6.  The definition of the Start Bay Boundary is inside of a line drawn from the Mew Stone to Start Point.

  7.  Juniors can only enter as one of either a Senior or Junior .

  8.  Conger Eels may be sold by arrangement with the Festival and proceeds donated to the RNLI.

  9.  The Specimen Weights List has been reviewed for 2024, and remains the same as 2023.

  10.  The Charter Boats that have Entry Books will be limited to Our Joe-L and Spot on. And Tackle Shops that have Entry Books will be limited to those within the Shore Boundaries that wish to participate.

  11.  A new weigh-in station will be available on Torquay harbour run by the Festival Committee between 7.00-7.30pm each evening.

  12.  Under Rule 9 an owner of a Licensed/Unlicensed vessel may fish aboard a Licensed Charter Vessel as part of a Chartered Trip during the dates of the TSAF, and none of their fish caught are to be sold, traded or bartered for money or money’s worth.

  13.  Trophies will be awarded and engraved for 2024 but will not be released to the winners. This is because if 2025 is the last Festival decisions regarding disposal of the Trophies will have to be made at the January 2025 AGM. Prize winners MUST collect their own awards at the Presentation Night in October. If you cannot attend, you must make arrangements with the Committee by 30th November to collect or receive your award. After that date the Prize will return to the Committee for future use

  14. Please note if you purchase an Entry Ticket online you can only purchase tickets for yourself and not other anglers. For each ticket order the personal details for the angler can only be entered once for the angler placing the order. For example an angler can purchase several day tickets for themselves in one order but they cannot purchase day tickets for friends or juniors in the same order. You must place separate orders for each angler so that each angler receives an individual Entry Number for the Weigh-in details of fish you catch.

We hope the new changes being made for 2024 will improve the Torbay Festival. Your feedback and continued support is appreciated, and we aim to offer an improving quality of prizes for all in the future.
